Introduction
As an administrator, you can add business logic rules to a model if and when certain conditions are met. The rules are applied before the execution of the Just Ask question.
Create a New Rule
To create a new rule for Just Ask:
1
Click Manage Models within Just Ask.
2
Select the All Models tab and then click the More Options for the desired model.
3
Ensure that the Rules tab is selected and then + Add Rules to create your first rule.
Set Rule Conditions
4
Enter a name for the specific rule in the text field provided.
5
Expand the drop-down menu to define the rule’s criteria.
6
Based on what was selected in the first drop-down menu, you will then need to continue to refine your criteria in the second drop-down menu.
Note
You can add additional criteria to the rule by clicking the +And button. This will add a new row.
7
Click Next to continue to the next step.
Specify Rule Actions
In the second step, you will need to define the rule actions (based on the rule conditions set in the previous step).
These actions can be:
- Include
- Exclude
- User Filters
- Be Sorted
To specify rule actions:
1
Select the action for the rule (e.g., include, exclude, user filters, or be sorted).
2
Select the objects to include, exclude, filter, or sort based on prior selection, and then click Select.
3
Once you have defined all rule actions, you can click the Next button.
Review Rule
Once you have set the rule conditions and specified rule actions, you will need to review your selections and then save the rule.
Review and Edit Rules
Once your first rule has been created, you will see it populated in the Rules tab and in the Manage Rules section.
If you need to edit the rule, click the Pencil icon. If you need to delete the rule, click the Trash icon.
Run Test Rules
In the Test Rules section, you can run a test of your rule to see if the applied rules have any conflicting actions.
