Dimensions tables add extended properties about dimension members.
These properties could describe the date with every time entry, like what day of the week it is or the hierarchy of that time. This makes time dimensions useful but also large and hard to maintain.
Datasphere will generate time dimensions that can be associated with a model and utilize all the functions found in SAC, such as Time Series charts and drillable hierarchies.
To create time dimensions:

Select Space Management in Datasphere.

Find your space, and click edit.

Scroll down to Time Data.

Select Create Time Tables and Dimensions. A “create timetable and dimension” popup will open.

In the Time Table Settings, update the range of years populated in the dimensions using the From Year and the To Year options.
Note
The Calendar Type and Granularity are currently fixed to Gregorian and Day.
Time Dimensions show the 4 dimension tables that will be generated. These are for Year, Quarter, Month, and Day.
In addition, 3 translation tables are also created.

Click Create. The space will automatically deploy the tables.
Tips
- To make changes to the time configuration, select Edit
- Once you have made changes, click the Update Time Data Views
- To delete your Time Tables, select Delete

Select Data Builder from the Navigation Bar. Your tables and views are generated here.

Select the Time Table.

This table will contain a Timestamp as a primary key for every day within the selected From Year to To Year.
Then, it will have columns containing further attributes describing each day.
