Remote tables are tables configured to replicate datasets from remote sources.
Remote tables can be directly generated from external data sources by importing a remote table. You must have a live connection associated with your space as a prerequisite.
1
Select Data Builder.
2
In the middle menu, expand the Import options.
3
Select Import Remote Tables.
You will now see a list of connections.
4
Select the connection you wish to use.
5
Once the connection is made, click Next Step.
6
Expand the folder containing the tables or views from your data source.
7
Select the remote tables you wish to use.
8
Click Next Step.
Tables that have not been imported will be displayed in the Ready to Import tab.
9
Here you can rename the Business and Technical name.
10
Click Import and Deploy.
11
Once the import is successful, click Close.
12
Select the Table you have imported.
13
Select the Data Viewer.
Currently, the table does not hold any data.
A snapshot can be made if you wish to replicate the data held on the connections’ database in Datasphere.
14
Under the Remote section, select Data Replication.
15
Select Load New Snapshot.
