You have created a model in Datasphere and are successfully using it in SAC.
Your organization has BI uses that require third-party software to analyze the model. The first thing that is needed is a database user that can authenticate database access for external tools.
This is possible by configuring a Database User in your space.
1
In Datasphere, select Space Management.
2
Find your space, and click edit.
3
Scroll down to database access.
4
Under Database User, click Create.
5
In the new popup, you will see options for the credentials and attributes of an external connection.
6
Enter a Database User Name Suffix.
- This is a maximum of 34 characters and cannot include spaces or special characters.
To allow external access, at least read access needs to be configured.
7
Tick Enable Read Access (SQL).
8
If you want external tools to write data back to Datasphere, tick Enable Write Access (SQL, DDL, & DML).
9
An audit log can be created for read and write actions to the data.
- Entries to this log will stay for 7 days by default.
10
Click Create once you have finished the configuration.
11
Click Deploy.
12
Select the info dialog option for the new database user.
A popup will show the connection details to your space.
13
Click Request New Password.
14
Click on the Show button and copy the password.
You now have a database user that can allow external access to your models and datasets in your space.
