Integrations and Connections Unit Introduction
Unit Introduction
This unit offers a comprehensive overview of setting up connections in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). It begins with general steps for establishing connections and explores various data source types compatible with SAC. Additionally, it delves into different connectivity options, sharing and creating data source connections, and troubleshooting techniques for resolving import errors and failures.
Additionally, this unit covers the installation and configuration of essential components like the Cloud Connector and SAP Analytics Cloud Agent. It also includes the installation of SAP Java Connector (JCo) for seamless communication with on-premise SAP systems. The significance of the Cloud Connector in data imports, along with its installation, configuration, and ability to connect multiple SAC tenants, is discussed. Furthermore, the installation, testing, and updating procedures for the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent, as well as the installation of SAP JCo and its setup on a dedicated server for optimal performance, are covered in detail.

- Differentiate between the different data connectivity types available.
- Share a connection with other users and teams.
- Create a connection to a data source.
- Identify best practices for troubleshooting data import errors.
- Identify import issues in SAC and determine whether they are partial or full failures.
- Troubleshoot partial failures by downloading the rejected rows CSV file and resolving the import errors.
- Understand common causes of full failures, including issues with the connection, cloud agent, cloud connector, or server-side issues, and how to address them.
- Export model data in SAC and define export details, including data region and schedule, to ensure that data can be accessed and used in other systems.
- Schedule data import and export jobs.
- Understand the importance of data import management and how it can save time by automating the import process with a scheduled recurrence.
- Schedule data import and export jobs on a singular or repeating basis and set dependencies between multiple data sources.
- View and refresh scheduled imports from the Schedule Status tab within the Connection Window.
- Identify the different import settings available, including import method, other options, and how to review mapping and data transformations.
- Understanding the importance of the Cloud Connector in the SAP Analytics Cloud system.
- Install the Cloud Connector, including the prerequisites and steps required for installation, and best practices for installation.
- Configure the initial settings for the Cloud Connector after installation.
- Connect multiple SAC tenants to one SAP Cloud Connector and change the password for the Administrator user.
- Complete the prerequisites required for installing the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent, such as Apache Tomcat and Java Standard Edition Runtime Environment (JRE).
- Install the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent by downloading and deploying the C4A_AGENT.war file to the Tomcat webapps directory.
- Create a user with the Services role for the Agent within Tomcat.
- Test the installation of the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent.
- Update the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent to the latest version.
- Understand the role of SAP Java Connector (JCo) and how it facilitates communication with on-premise SAP systems.
- Identify the prerequisites and technical requirements needed to install SAP JCo.
- Demonstrate the steps to install SAP JCo, including moving the necessary files into the appropriate Apache Tomcat lib folder.
- Recognize the benefits of installing SAP JCo.
