Access and Explore Data

Within this module, you will learn how to bring data into SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). Having good data in SAC is crucial for maximizing your use of the tool. You will learn how to import data into SAC and how to evaluate that data before applying it to a model or a dataset. One of the key concepts in this process is distinguishing between Dimensions, Measures, and Attributes. You will also learn about hierarchies and how they are used to organize your data better. Finally, you will see what capabilities are available in SAC to transform (or wrangle) your data when you bring it into the system.

Data Exploration & BI Visualizations

Within this module, you will have the have the opportunity to begin creating stories and visualizations within SAP Analytics Cloud. This will involve creating multiple different types of charts within a story. You will also learn about the different types of filtering capabilities within SAC, which are generally called input controls. Using visualizations and input controls are the foundation to any story in SAC. Additionally, you will be introduced to the data explorer view, creating tables, and formatting options that are available for all objects in a story. Lastly, you will learn about collaboration functionality and the ability to bookmark your own specific view of a story.

BI Time Handling for End Users

Within this module, you will learn how to utilize built-in SAC functions surrounding Time Handling. One way to make your BI Visualizations more flexible is by creating a Dynamic Time Filter. These filters allow you to view historic, current, or futuristic data inside a Story through setting up standard and offset time ranges. This module will cover not only how to build a Dynamic Time Filter, but also developing Current Date Input Controls. These Input Controls override the system date and allow you to select a specific day. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to add Time Based Variances into you BI Visualizations for more insights to your data. Then to close, you will add in an automatic forecast into your Time Series chart for further analysis.

Introduction to Planning for End Users (Part 1)

In part one of Introduction to Planning, you will have the opportunity to explore the very basics of Version Management and Data Input. As you discover more about Version Management, you will learn how to use existing categories in a table to create new public and private versions of that data. This will come in handy when you need to perform your own ad-hoc planning on company data. In order to enter data inside of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), you must have the proper licenses and security clearances in order to do so. This module reviews SAC license requirements, as well as other criteria needed in order to perform data input. Finally, you will learn how the data behaves (aggregates/disaggregates in the hierarchy) when entering data manually within the table.

Introduction to Planning for End Users (Part 2)

Within this module, you will first learn how to differentiate between entering data directly into a table, verses utilizing the Planning Panel. Within the Planning Panel you have the abilities to spread, distribute, and assign values to other members. You will also learn about the benefits of using a Value Driver Tree to help your organization strategically plan and view different "what-if" scenarios. Additionally, you will learn how the Calendar application will help you keep track of all the different tasks you may be responsible for within SAP Analytics Cloud. The Calendar provides built-in events for you to create and utilize in order to stay on-top of your work.
