The new Unified Story Presentation mode is live and was inspired by SAP Analytics Clouds’ Digital Boardroom. All the key features of the traditional Board Room have been integrated directly into the optimized experience giving users the best capabilities of both. These features include:

  • Import of Story pages
  • Building a Presentation Structure
  • Customizing the Presentation Mode Experience
  • Present Mode

The above options allow story creators to manage the user experience from a boardroom presentation or directly on a user’s computer.

The new ability to import story pages can be accessed when adding a page to a story from either page tabs or the + in the page section of the outline panel. This feature lets users use pages from other stories as their own, if they have read access to the page they want to include.

Users are now able to build their own presentation structure to guide the presenter of a page. By using this feature, users will be able to create a clear presentation structure to go along with their optimized story. This feature is not mandatory, as Flat Presentations (no presentation structure) are still the default for any story presentations.

Various configuration options have also been added to Present Mode, allowing users to completely customize and enhance their Presentation Mode experience. These configuration options include:

  • Toolbar Customization: When in Present Mode, the tool bar can now be viewed as floating or set to prove the best possible viewing experience for users. Floating is currently the default option and allows for users to drag and place the tool bar wherever they would like to.  If a user selects the “set” option, the tool bar can be set to the top or bottom of the page. Additionally, the set tool bar can be pinned so that it is always showing on screen and the floating tool bar can minimized as needed.
  • Default Viewer Configuration: Users now have the ability to configure the default mode that the story will open in when the story is viewed. The default mode can be configured under Navigation in the outline panel. The view mode defaults have not changed. Present mode will need to be set as the default view mode for users to view the experience above.
  • Navigational Panel State: There has been a new navigation panel added to help users better navigate stories. This New navigation panel can be configured to be floating, pinned, or unpinned. This navigation panel also includes a filters tab. In this filters tab, users will have the ability to see and select from all the filters that affect the page and story at once.
    • The pinned Navigation Panel is pinned to the left side of your screen. As the size of the navigation panel is adjusted, the story content will also be resized.
  • The unpinned Navigation Panel expands and collapses from the left just like the pinned Navigation Panel, however, the unpinned Navigation Panel will overlay the story instead of resizing content
  • The floating Navigation Panel can be completely detached from the left side of the screen and can be moved or resized in any way that the user prefers.
